Happy 4th of July everyone. Enjoy time with your families, count your blessings, and take a few moments to reflect on what got us here.

Your so right Woodhull , we are so fortunate for all the great people in this country who have fought and sacrificed to protect the freedoms we enjoy. Thanks to everyone here for all your insights and comments about why our branch of government needs significant reform. Thanks to the First Amendment our voices are being heard and things are slowly changing for the better. Have a safe and Nice holiday everyone .

A Fourth of July salute to everyone here who stands in defense of the honor and integrity of the California Judicial Branch, and I am honored to stand with you:
Proud To Be An American
Artist: Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone, I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars, to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget those who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA.
From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston, and New York to L.A.
Well there’s pride in every American heart, and it’s time we stand and say.
That I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget those who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.
And I’m proud to be and American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget those who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

Should we ever contemplate changing our national anthem, Lee Greenwood’s proud to be an american tops our list.

Hey, JCW! I – for one – really LOVED hearing Pink Floyd’s, “Wish you were here,” again! It could make for a brilliant underscore to Reagan’s famous 1986 speech!! 😉
That YouTube video of Mr. Reagan’s speech you posted shocked me back to many memories.
While a proud Democrat, I was privileged and surprisingly cleared to work on Reagan’s winning campaign in 1979/80, producing and directing TV and radio spots for the US Northwest region under the RNC.
“They” selected me based upon my skill sets and talent (and willingness to solemly fulfill the scary non-disclosure agreements, which I did). Working behind-the-scenes, I learned that Mr. Reagan’s many speeches were designed to help “unify our country,” while Industrialists and Institutions built empires and impenetrable self-protective architectures… (while I made a LOT of money, I just couldn’t drink the Red, White & Blue “Koolaid” anymore, and I quit working on politicals altogether).
Thank you, esteemed ones, for your many and daily fights… because of you fighting our “enemies within,” I am hopeful and believe that we lay tax-payers, protective parents and our children will be viewed as better than mere Tax Cattle and Flesh to be traded, someday…
Happy forth-going…
